Shaw's Birchwood on Lake Michigan

I just finished the Shaw House quilt. The home is named Birchwood and is located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Leland, Michigan. Birch trees are the most common types of trees with the White Cedar following second. The house was built in the late 1970's and was home to a family with 4 children. The children, who are now grown with families of their own, commissioned me to create this quilt for their parents anniversary and Christmas. They wanted the most memorable parts of the landscape to…See More

C.W. Worth House Quilt

When I lived in Michigan, I made a number of handpainted quilts for people all over the Western Hemisphere, including the U.S. and Argentina. Due to computer failure, I only have a handful of the pictures of my quilts, which I have uploaded to 3rd Street Plaza and my web site (http://www.coastallandmarkquilts.com/). I recently finished my first quilt since moving to Wilmington, NC. The quilt is of the…See More

About me, my family, hobbies, interests
I'm originally from Michigan. I moved to Wilmington in 2007.
Tell us about your company. Who are you interesting in meeting? Who is a good referral for you? Who is your ideal customer?
My name is Cheryl Forester. I'm an artist that specializes in a unique combination of painting and quilting. I paint structures (historic buildings, private homes, etc.) and landscapes using acrylics on fabric. Then, I quilt the painting so it looks like pen and ink, and finish it with a quilted border. The result is a one-of-a-kind wall hanging that is perfect as a gift or room centerpiece. o you have a building or location that holds fond memories? Perhaps a family vacation spot or the fountain where you became engaged? Display it in a unique form. I paint and quilt various buildings and structures.
