For any of you that may have seen pictures or recent races on the the ICW and maybe thinking about trying this sport, following is a video link to some basic instructions. The sport started in Hawaii a number of years ago and has found its way here just in the past two years. It's a growing water sport and now a number of local stores are selling and renting these boards and giving instructions. As a Reminder.. New NC Boating Education Course Law Effective May 1

Last July, NC Governor Perdue signed Senate Bill 43 (Session Law 2009-282) which requires certain operators of power boats (over 10 horse power) to complete a boating safety educational course for anyone under age 26 by May 1, 2010 from an approved provider.The original Bill would have imposed a fine of $100 plus court costs.The final Bill is only court costs which could be waved if showing proof that a proper boating educational course was passed before court appearance.
